EQUINIX FRANCE EMBRACES SELECTA'S "TRY & BUY" SMART FRIDGE INITIATIVE – REVOLUTIONIZING CORPORATE DINING

Background

End 2024, EQUINIX France took a step towards redefining its headquarters’ breakroom experience by introducing Selecta’s innovative Foodies Grab & Go Smart Fridges. This installation marks the beginning of a transformative journey in workplace dining at their bustling headquarters in Paris. 

Challenge

EQUINIX faced the challenge of enhancing their breakroom facilities to offer diverse and convenient meal options that cater to the dynamic needs of their diverse workforce, including service providers and suppliers. The goal was to elevate the employee dining experience from mundane to exceptional. 

Objective

The primary objective was to pilot a sophisticated food solution that could offer ultra-fresh, diverse food choices - including Halal options and hot meals - throughout the day. EQUINIX aimed to test the viability and acceptance of such an innovative solution before making a long-term commitment. 

Solution

Selecta introduced the Foodies Grab & Go Smart Fridges with a “Try and Buy” option, allowing EQUINIX to evaluate the solution in real-time. The Smart Fridge was strategically placed on the ground floor of EQUINIX’s headquarters, designed to meet specific client requests with a premium planogram and customized meal options. 

The introduction of Selecta’s Foodies Grab & Go Smart Fridges at our headquarters has revolutionized our break times and significantly enhanced our workplace environment. The variety and freshness of the food offered meet the high standards our employees expect. Selecta’s responsive service and tailored solutions have not only satisfied our immediate needs but also opened doors for future collaborations across our other sites.

Results

The Smart Fridge quickly became a central part of EQUINIX’s daily operations, with the project proving to be a resounding success. Following the initial trial phase, the positive feedback and high usage led to a full-scale implementation and the installation of a second Smart Fridge by January 2025. The average daily revenue from each Smart Fridge showcases the employees' appreciation for accessible, high-quality meal options.
